Indian Government is continuously promoting Digital Transactions from the time of Demonetisation. The very first initiative was BHIM App which resulted in tremendous popularity and gained a lot of digital users. Today, Government has taken a brilliant step by launching BharatQR Code Digital Payment system.
This feature or you can say initiative will help people to do cashless transactions and even then didn’t have to swipe their cards longer. BharatQR Code Digital System is a payment solution which works via QR (Quick Response) Code.
Now, some of you are might thinking that BHIM App also allows us to generate a bar code and make payment via that to merchants then what’s special in this? So, let’s go deeper and understand it easily.
What is BharatQR Code Digital Payment System & How Will it Work?
As said earlier, BharatQR Code Digital Payment system is a Quick Response (QR) code based payement system which lets you to make payments anywhere without swiping cards or using multiple mobile wallets. This system is developed by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), MaterCard & VISA.
So the question is, if there are couple of mobile wallets available which allows users to generate QR Code and make payment to merchants via that, then what’s special here in BharatQR Code Digital Payment system?
The pretty simple & clean answer to this question is, if you have to make payment to a merchant via BHIM App’s generated QR Code then merchant will need the same app to accept payment. But here in, this new digital system, you need only one QR Code which works with all, intellegent, isn’t it?
Now, the common question pinning everyone’s mind is, how will it work?
How one QR Code will be able to differentiate between mutiple payment systems?
Nice question, let me answer it.
How BharatQR Code Digital Payment System Will Work?
BharatQR is a specific code which is offered by your Bank.
Users will need to link their cards to the app and select the appropriate card during the payment.
Mobile wallets which link to Visa, Mastercard or RuPay Platforms like Paytm, MobiKwik, etc. generally come with an inbuilt QR Code reader or even Bank’s Official Mobile App.
What you have to do is, link your card or bank account with the mobile app as a one-time activity and that’s it. Now, for making the payment, you will need to scan the “Bharat QR” code using the mobile app (No need for being specific, it should be any one). The required amount or billed money will automatically be transferred into merchant’s account.
