Amazon Decides To Close Two-Hour Grocery Delivery App


Amazon India’s old grocery app, which is known as Prime now is all set to be closed. Prime now was known as Amazon Now in the year 2016. Amazon Decides Close Two-Hour Grocery Delivery App. Users can now order all groceries, electronic gadgets from the main Amazon app. This will take 2-hours to be delivered to your doorstep.

Amazon’s Prime Now:

Prime now has recorded 10 million downloads on Google Play. The app has received only 327 ratings on the play store.

Replacement Of Prime Now:

Amazon is all set to release Amazon fresh as a part of their main Amazon app.  Originally introduced in August last year in India, Amazon Fresh was initially serving only select pin codes in Bengaluru. However, the company has now expanded it to six cities.

Amazon Prime App:

Amazon has also updated its Amazon Prime app. They have warned its customers that they have discontinued their global app. They will further come up with another app which will have features like money transfer and UPI.

According to Amazon, shopping history, transactions, payment instruments, and addresses, will all be automatically migrated to the new app.

Online Grocery Apps:

Online grocery apps have been the biggest challenge for most of the e-commerce companies. All the companies have worked on it but none of them have to succeed.

Current Scenario:

The Government has announced a lockdown of 21 days. This will help the online grocery apps, like BigBasket and Grofers to increase their business.

Amazon Buys More:

In the year 2018, Amazon had bought the grocery chain MORE from Aditya Birla Group. Future Group has also tied-up with Amazon.

Shutting Down Of Amazon Prime:

According to reports, Amazon was not getting vendors and suppliers. And it was in the verge of shutting down.

Amazon fresh will offer vegetables, fruits, ice creams, meat, dairy and dry groceries as well as packaged food directly from the Amazon app.
