Facebook’s Photo Transfer Tool Now Available in US and Canada

Facebook’s photo transfer tool is now available in the US and Canada by the company. The company has been working on expanding the reach of its photo transfer tool to more regions and now, and it is now rolling out to users in the United States and Canada. The tool lets users transfer their Facebook photos and videos directly to other services. As of now, it allows transferring to Google Photos.

Expanding of the feature

The feature was firstly introduced in December last year as part of the Data Transfer Project. Since then, Facebook has been further expanding its reach to other regions ever since.

The company shared the development as an update to the original blog about the photo transfer tool. It states that the company is expanding the availability of the photo transfer tool to the United States and Canada.

How to access the tool?

To access the tool, users have to

  • Open the Facebook Settings page.
  • After that, Click on Your Facebook Information and then select Transfer a Copy of Your Photos and Videos.
  • You will have to enter your Facebook password after which you will have to Choose Destination from the drop-down.
  • The only option as of now is Google Photos. Choose what you want to transfer (photos or videos) and click Next.

From India and other countries to the US and Canada

The tool has been available in India for a few months now. Therefore, users can further transfer their photos and videos to Google Photos by following the aforementioned steps.

Previously, Facebook launched this tool in December last year. In February, it made the tool available for countries in Latin America and the Asia Pacific. However, last month, it was made available to countries in the European Union, following the United Kingdom, more countries in Latin America, South East Asia and Africa. Now, it has reached Canada and the US.
