The Government will now offer Free BSNL SIM Cards to foreign tourists who are arriving via E-VISA said, Union Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma. In that SIM Card, talktime of Rs 50 & also 50MB mobile data will be pre-loaded.
All this will be supported by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited.
Afterwards, Sharma said,”It will facilitate the foreign tourists in communicating with their acquaintances immediately after they land in India“.
Free BSNL SIM Cards by Government & Facilities
Government will also provide 24×7 customer support to users. Tourists haven’t to worry about their native language, as because their will be support for 12 foreign languages.
Tourism Minister further mentioned that this facility is available now on Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi, which will be expanded soon to 15 International Airports of India.
Sharma also said that,”The initiative will help the tourists to immediately communicate with their relatives at home, hotels, tour operators and so on. I got this idea when I had got a similar card when I had visited Sri Lanka”.
The reason why this is only for e-visa users is to get the complete information about user before issuing the Free BSNL SIM Card.
Tourism Secretary Vinod Zutshi said that they will also look up for this service to traditional VISA users soon.
