INTRO: As the spree of banning Chinese apps in India continues, popular mobile Battle Royale title, PUBG Mobile recently became one among the casualties. Now, another mobile Battle Royale is aiming to capture the huge market that PUBG Mobile left behind in India by introducing Indian superstar, Hritik Roshan as an in-game character.
Garena’s Free Fire may be a PUBG-like mobile game that lets players sink during a map with 49 other players and survive to be the last man standing. However, unlike PUBG Mobile, the sport lets players choose between an inventory of varied in-game characters with different sorts of “special survival ability”.
Now, Garena, the Singapore-based publisher of the mobile game, Free Fire recently announced a partnership with the Krrish-actor to mark the beginning of a replacement in-game campaign, “Be The Hero”. This campaign will enable the players to settle on Hritik’s in-game character, “Jai”, who is that the game’s first Indian playable character.
“I am thrilled to be a neighborhood of the Free Fire universe and my official avatar, Jai, that the team has created, is so cool. I hope that each one the players enjoy this unique experience,” said Roshan during a statement.
So, with PUBG Mobile gone from the Indian market, Garena’s Free Fire aims to capture the Indian gaming community with more India-focussed content for the sport. However, with the announcement of the new “Fau-G” game, the competition is going to be tough.
“At Garena, we believe the facility of localization. By offering our gaming community in India the unique opportunity to play together of India’s most recognizable stars, we wanted to reaffirm our commitment to making memorable experiences for players here,” stated the Producer of the sport, Harold Teo.
