Google Authenticator Update Brings Revamped UI and Account Transfer


INTRO: Google has recently updated its authenticator app to go online with its modern material design language. It is worth noticing that this is the first time when a major design revamps for the app has come up since 2017 and the version number of the update is 5.10. As far as, reported by the sources, the update brings a true-black theme in dark mode. However, some of the users are reported that they are getting the regular grayish dark theme with accents usually seen on other Google apps with a dark theme.

Import or Export ACcounts Between Devices

The most important functional change with this new update has to be its ability to transfer accounts with Google Authenticator. So Yes, finally the app has added the option to import or export accounts between the devices with Google Authenticator installed in it.

To make all of this possible, the company will generate a QR code that can be scanned from the other devices. Also, if you get to choose the accounts you’re interested to import in the process.
