INTRO: The Search Engine giant Google has recently updated its Google Earth with a refreshed search experience that improves the functionality of the service along with the visually pleasing design and elements in a way to contributing a better user experience to the users.
Google Earth Brings New Surface Interface
The new search interface of google application shows you the places which are featured in Google Earth and it must-see views that are sourced from Google Earth Voyager. There is an ‘I’m feeling lucky’ button in it that randomly picks up a place for you as well.
Now moving on to further search suggestions, the suggestions are now classified into specific categories such as Places, Games and Quizzes, Data Layers, and Guided Tours. It goes to without saying that the category listing for a specific place totally depends on the amount of data that is available for that specific location and hence, you might not be necessarily be seeing all these categories for all your location queries in it.
Once you search and choose a place on the application, then it will present you with the categories in a tabbed layout, as you can see in the image below. You also get a personalized search history with this update on Google.
All of these new changes are now live across Android, iOS operating system, and the web version of its own Google Earth. In case you are not seeing them, then make sure your app is updated to the latest version available on the Play Store or App Store in your devices.
So, if you have been longing to go outside but acted responsibly by staying indoors to contain the spread of coronavirus, now you would be having a good time to go on a virtual world tour via Google Earth which is powered by all these search improvements.
