INTRO: Reliance Jio has now entered into popular online grocers, just like BigBasket and Amazon, in India for the past five months. JioMart came back in December last year, with kicking at selected pin codes in Mumbai last month. Now today, JioMart has rolled out online grocery delivery service in 200 towns and cities all across India.
The new service will ensure you purchase groceries and daily essentials through its website. The service is not available in the format of the mobile app for now. Now, you must be wondering – how does it check if JioMart is available at my location or area? Just click the ‘Delivering to’ option next to the search bar on the site, enter your pin code to see whether it’s serviceable or not. If JioMart delivers to your address, you will see the name of your city or area pop-up in green color or you will see an error message saying – “We are currently not available at this location. Stay tuned!”
JioMart: Is It Any Good?
JioMart is now accessible in New Delhi. The web interface is quite organized. You can browse all the categories, dig deeper into them, and you can access each product page from the website very easily. However, You will first need to sign up, with your phone number and e-mail address, to begin the process.
The service has debuted in New Delhi today but the product catalog seems unavailable with almost everything that you might need during the lockdown. We can expect the same thing to grow over the coming months, as it is going head to head with Prime Now, BigBasket, and Grofers in the way.
Delivery and Payment Methods
If we talk about the delivery thing, JioMart does not offer concrete delivery dates or any slots like other online grocery stores. Instead of that, it only says that your order will be delivered in the next two days. You can jump into your account and keep track of any updates related to delivery.
Then comes the payment thing, JioMart includes many options for completing the order. You can pay for your deliveries on JioMoney, PhonePe, Paytm, and Mobikwik if you prefer using your digital wallet. otherwise, you can also use net banking and credit/ debit cards to place the order. JioMart is also offering the option of ‘Cash on Delivery’ service, which is one of the most used payment methods all across India.
So, if you are not able to find any slot on Grofers or BigBasket or any other grocery store, you could go for JioMart and give it a try. The service should be available in more cities and towns across India in the coming weeks.
