Samsung To Launch Physical Debit Card
The announcement of launching the new physical debit card in this summer while celebrating the 5 years of Samsung pay. This news directly comes from a blog post by Sang Ahn, the VP, and GM of Samsung Pay in the North America division. According to the post, the company has been working for the last five years to bring “new experiences” to the Samsung Pay mobile payments platform. The company team collaborated with several leading financial innovators to achieve that feat.
No Details Regarding the Features and Details about Card yet
Now, the company is planning to launch an “innovative” debit card in collaboration with the financial service providers, SoFi. It will be a physical card that will be supported by a cash management account. Apart from the above information, the blog post does not detail any other features that might come with the Samsung Pay debit card. Ahn wrote that they will “share more details in the coming weeks”. So, for now, we have no choice but to just wait for the coming weeks to know details and what benefits the new card will bring for the customers.
we already saw Apple coming up with the Apple Card in partnership with the Goldman Sachs and recently we heard more rumors about Google making its own debit card. So, now the announcement of a new physical debit card from Samsung at this time was kind of expected as we know that tech companies are now focusing their resources on financial services very much.
