INTRO: Earlier today we got our first proper leak for the Sony Xbox Series S alongside a price leak also. Microsoft officially confirmed that the Xbox Series S exists and is priced at $299, complete with an image showing off the design of the new console.
Now, it seems Sony is planning on revealing the PlayStation 5 price soon also. According to a UK based game retailer, Game Guildford, the Japanese company is going to be revealing the worth for the upcoming console tomorrow. The retailer said the maximum amount during a tweet addressing people that are asking about PS5 pre-orders among other things. “Those awaiting preorders and have Rye. Please standby for updates. PS5 has scheduled an announcement tomorrow so things are close to beginning in the week .” reads the Sony tweet which has since been removed.
Obviously, this isn’t a politician announcement from Sony so we might suggest you’re taking this information with a pinch of salt. That said, it might add up for Sony to form some more announcements for the PlayStation 5 soon. Creating traction and getting more people talking a few product may be a solid thanks to kick starter sales once they get launched later this year.
Sony’s pricing will need to be competitive in comparison to Microsoft’s. Even though we currently don’t know the worth for the Xbox Series X, reports suggest it’ll be priced at $499. Sony’s PS5 and PS5 Digital Editions will got to be priced similarly if they’re to compete against Microsoft. Otherwise, Sony will got to provide some pretty solid reasons for people to shop for their console over Microsoft’s.
