INTRO: The food delivery giant Swiggy has now integrated Mumbai-based on-demand delivery platform Scootsy. The company had acquired Scootsy back in 2018 for nearly Rs.50 crores. Scootsy app will no longer be functional.
Swiggy Integrates With Scootsy To Bring Premium Delivery On-Board
Thanks to this integration, Swiggy users in Mumbai can now choose between a curated selection of food from Scootsy right the Swiggy app. There are some of the restaurants onboard that includes Yauatcha & Hakkasan of KA Hospitality, The Table, Masque, Royal China, and 4 Seasons Hotel additionally to gourmet stores like FoodHall. Apart from this, Swiggy has partnerships with luxury hotels like ITC Hotels, Marriott, Hyatt, and therefore the Hilton.
Swiggy has expanded its range up to 10 kilometers within the city. This move, consistent with Swiggy, will reach a bigger consumer base that’s said to be five times quite their current audience. According to the company, there is a premium fleet of independent pick-up and delivery partners who will deliver Scootsy orders.
Expansion Currently Available For Customers In Mumbai
“By managing the synergies of both the platforms, we are ready to home deliver premium services to a way wider customer base in Mumbai,” said Vivek Sunder, Chief Operating Officer, Swiggy, in a statement.
It is worth noting that this expansion is applicable only to Swiggy customers in Mumbai since it operates just within the city. Right now, there’s no information whether if the company would expand beyond Mumbai to other cities.
“Since the beginning of Scootsy in 2018, we have been quite closely noticing the premium category and grasping the underpinnings of making delightful experiences for discerning customers. This, clubbed with the upshift in consumer interest in premium offerings, made for the right timing to integrate Scootsy with Swiggy,” Sundar added.
