INTRO: Since the time of Kubrik’s “2001: A Space Odyssey”, space the movies have created a lot of hype as it brings the celestials bodies closer to us in the big screens. But the “space” that we see in the movies are just a bunch of green screens on which the sceneries of the “space” are added at the time of post-production. Now, it feels like Tom Cruise is done with shooting in front of green screens and thus he wants to go to actual space to shoot a space movie.
Tom Cruise To Shoot Feature Film in Actual Space
According to all the recent reports we have got, the legendary actor-cum-stuntman, known to be like Tom Cruise is currently in a discussion with Elon Musk’s space organization, SpaceX and with international space organization.
NASA to allow or give him permission to shoot a feature film in actual space. If he gets the permit this could be the moment of revolution for the global film industry as it has never happened ever before, however, the plan is still in its early stages.
The negotiation with NASA is in its premature stage
The reports from Deadline are that although the negotiation is in its premature stage, the discussion is pretty serious among the actor and the two space organizations. Cruise is one of those actors who loves and wants to take risks in his movies by performing dangerous stunts on his own. We have saw him climb the Burj Khalifa in one of the Mission Impossible films we can never forget.
So, after that scaling the world’s tallest building, the actor now wants to take the graph more high by performing his stunts in a spacesuit in actual space. However, it is said that according to the report, this movie will not be a part of the Mission Impossible series though.
SpaceX is also developing the Starship which is totally a fully reusable second stage payload section which can carry passengers and cargo to the Earth’s orbit and other planetary destinations for different purposes. As it has enough room or space for a film crew to be on board for, shooting a space film in space it can actually happen in the recent future.
