INTRO: In a questionnaire to achieve a 100% screen-to-body-ratio without any of the ugly notch or a hole in the display, the smartphone manufacturers are trying so hard in their limits to their fullest. Xiaomi is one such smartphone manufacturer who is pushing its limit to achieve the goal as soon as possible. Recently, the Chinese smartphone makers patented an unusual smartphone design to make completely a bezel-less display without any notch or hole-punch in the smartphone.

Xiaomi Patented a bezel-less display for its Smartphones

This was very firstly noted by Tiger Mobiles, the patent was directly registered by the Xiaomi company with the Chinese National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA). Maybe this means that the Chinese tech giant is thinking to implement this new design in their upcoming smartphones. So, the patent shows a very unusual and different design for a smartphone that comes with a flipable upper portion display. This new design eliminates the front camera and uses the back camera as its selfie shooter. However, it’s not like that using the back camera with a display at the back to shoot the selfie, as it was in the Huawei’s patent previously.

Revolving Display In Upper Portion Of Device

As can be seen in the above-mentioned picture that the patented design includes a smartphone that comes with a revolving display in the upper portion of the device which can flip back to bring the back camera to the front whenever needed. When this portion flips itself, the part of the display goes to the back acting as a secondary back display in the smartphone. It is quite similar to the flip camera that we saw in the Asus 6z last year, but it has certain differences.

Xiaomi has patented many designs in the past, but, we haven’t seen much of the designs implemented in their smartphones. So, for now, we will suggest you take this information with a small doubt whether the patent registration will mean the successful implementation of the design or not.
